Work Experience
Tracy’s qualifications and training as a psychotherapist have provided her with the skills to engage and build relationships with individuals in need of psychological support. She has experience working therapeutically within the HSE primary care mental health services. She has also worked with adults within a community-based project for individuals in recovery from substance use, in which psychological, physical wellbeing and personal development are included in the long-term strategies of the programme.
Underpinning Philosophy
Tracy specialises in working with individuals with issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, domestic violence, phobia, bereavement, stress, self-esteem, bereavement, sexuality, phobia, psychological difficulties of chronic Illness, and OCD. In her work Tracy incorporates an analytic therapeutic approach adapted to the client’s individual need. The aim of which is to facilitate a self-propelled emotional growth – as psychotherapy concerns the whole person and that which they can explore, resolve and consider new choices. In other words, an awareness of who one is, and who they want to be.
Academic Background
Tracy holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology and a clinical MA in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Dublin Business School of Arts. She is currently working towards accreditation with the National Association for Professional Counselling and Psychotherapy (NAPCP). She has obtained certificates in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Mindful Living. Tracy is also, a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and the Kleinian Association of Ireland (KAI). Additionally, Tracy currently volunteers with AWARE as a life skills supporter.
