Alix Gillece

Work Experience

Alix is a pre-accredited Integrative Counsellor, holding a B.A. (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and Art Therapy. She has worked extensively with clients experiencing a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, bereavement and relational difficulties. Alix has experience working with clients dealing with new mental health diagnoses, helping clients navigate these challenges by providing emotional support, therapeutic tools, and a safe, non-judgmental space to process their experiences.

Her approach is client-led and non-judgmental, recognisng that every person has their unique story. She tailors her methods to the needs and circumstances of each client. While Alix often integrates Art Therapy as a powerful tool for expression and emotional regulation, she acknowledges that it may not be suitable for every client or situation. Her priority is to remain adaptable, to ensure that each client’s unique journey is at the centre of their work together. Alix strives to create a safe, creative space where clients can explore their feelings and foster personal growth in a supportive environment.

Alix Gillece

Work Experience

Joanne has worked in both public and private psychotherapy practice as a student and graduate psychotherapist. She works in a humanistic integrative way, focusing on the client and their potential for growth and self-integration. Methods are adapted based on the client’s needs and what they bring to the room, as opposed to using one fixed method. Joanne has experience working with issues such as depression, anxiety, identity issues, trauma, addiction, family systems, abuse, and relationship problems.

Underpinning Philosophy

Although trained in a humanistic manner, Joanne pulls from the integrative elements of her training quite frequently by using methods from psychodynamic, gestalt and existential therapies.
