Underlying Philosophy and Approach

Anne Marie provides a warm, confidential space for clients to explore the changes they wish to make in their lives. Her practice is grounded in a Person-Centred Approach, emphasising that clients inherently possess the answers to their own questions. She also draws from a Psychodynamic Approach to help clients gain insight into their emotions and unconscious behaviour patterns. At the core of Anne Marie's practice is the beliefs that relationships are fundamental to our wellbeing particularly the relationship with ourselves. Anne Marie has experience working with issues such as depression, anxiety, bereavement, family systems, abuse, and relationship problems.

Anne Marie is available for long- or short-term therapy.

Work Experience

Joanne has worked in both public and private psychotherapy practice as a student and graduate psychotherapist. She works in a humanistic integrative way, focusing on the client and their potential for growth and self-integration. Methods are adapted based on the client’s needs and what they bring to the room, as opposed to using one fixed method. Joanne has experience working with issues such as depression, anxiety, identity issues, trauma, addiction, family systems, abuse, and relationship problems.

Underpinning Philosophy

Although trained in a humanistic manner, Joanne pulls from the integrative elements of her training quite frequently by using methods from psychodynamic, gestalt and existential therapies.
