Integrative Psychotherapist and Couples Counsellor

Anita Cody-Kenny

Work Experience

Anita has worked in a variety of Dublin-based clinics, which has given her experience with diverse client groups and presentations including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship and marital difficulties, family issues, peer relationships, women’s health, neurodivergence, grief, loss, trauma, self-harm and suicide. Her couples work draws on specialist training and placement experience with Accord, with attention to both partners and to the relationship itself. She is also experienced working with young adults as a student counsellor in Dublin City University and from having held a pastoral role in St. Peter’s College secondary school. She works with adult individuals, young adults (16+) and adult couples.

Underpinning Philosophy

Anita offers a steady, attuned presence, to support clients in achieving a more authentic version of themselves. Therapy is collaborative: identifying what matters most, noticing patterns that no longer serve, and building capacity — emotionally, relationally and practically. As an integrative psychotherapist Anita draws on a variety of therapeutic approaches so that treatment is tailored to the unique needs of the client. She adopts a humanistic, person-centred approach in all her work so that the client’s ability to heal and grow is valued and encouraged.

Work Experience

Joanne has worked in both public and private psychotherapy practice as a student and graduate psychotherapist. She works in a humanistic integrative way, focusing on the client and their potential for growth and self-integration. Methods are adapted based on the client’s needs and what they bring to the room, as opposed to using one fixed method. Joanne has experience working with issues such as depression, anxiety, identity issues, trauma, addiction, family systems, abuse, and relationship problems.

Underpinning Philosophy

Although trained in a humanistic manner, Joanne pulls from the integrative elements of her training quite frequently by using methods from psychodynamic, gestalt and existential therapies.
