Agnieszka Rajda
Work Experience
Agnieszka has over sixteen years of experience in psychotherapy; mainly in individual settings for adults (in person and online), but also in a group therapy setting. For over six years she co-led therapy groups aimed at helping individuals who grew up in dysfunctional families. Agnieszka has extensive experience with clients presenting with psychotic and schizoaffective disorders, depression, anxiety, psychosomatic issues, emotional eating, somatic diseases (for example oncological patients), co-dependency and adult children of dysfunctional families (including addiction or mental illness),childhood traumas, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD),emotional stress associated with treatment of infertility, bereavement and existential crises.
Underpinning Philosophy
Agnieszka offers a safe, confidential and reflective space in which clients can share troubled feelings and thoughts without judgement. She listens carefully and tries to understand past and present difficulties and needs, so that the client can gain insight into their own emotions and behaviour, and gradually make changes where helpful. Agnieszka uses psychoeducation, cognitive/emotional insight obtained in the therapeutic process, empathy and a strong therapeutic relationship to enable clients to utilise their inner resources to resolve emotional difficulties they face. Agnieszka believes that the modern scientific findings in neuroscience confirm that various forms of talk therapy have the capacity to reshape brain pathways. Each person in difficulty may require a different combination of talk and medication therapy, if necessary, which will act on neuron pathways in a process of change. These factors contribute to regaining the quality of life and well-being.
