Academic Background: Geraldine graduated from Dublin Business School in 2011 with a BA (Hons) Counselling & Psychotherapy, having originally graduated with a BSc from NUI Maynooth in 2000. During her final 2 years studying Counselling & Psychotherapy (and for another 2 years post-graduation) she worked as a student counsellor with Irish Autism Action, working with parents of children on the Autism Spectrum.
Work Experience : Geraldine is a qualified and accredited IACP Counsellor & Psychotherapist and has been practicing for 8 years. She takes a humanistic and a psychodynamic approach to working with clients with a person-centered process being her priority. Geraldine has experience working with: depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, addiction, stress management, with a particular interest and experience in working with parents of children on the Autism/Asperger Spectrum.
Underpinning Philosophy : Geraldine’s approach within the therapeutic space begins by taking time to get to know the client and allowing the relationship to build. This gradually facilitates a safe space where the client can feel held and contained within the psychotherapeutic explorations. A safe space can help the client explore and examine more and lead to personal growth, clarity, and healing.
